1st ever Night Photography

How is everyone liking the fog? I for one think it is really great and am fascinated with the perfect conditions that gave us such a thick early morning fog. It is not often that we get conditions quite like this so Melissa and I decided to go to Wheeler Farm so I could try out some night photography. This was my first real attempt at night photography and I think it went pretty well. The fog seemed to provide a very ambient light and really lit up my pictures. But we did have a good time. It's fun to go shoot some pictures in different conditions just to see what effects it will have. Here are some of the best of the night- nothing too spectacular but they were fun to shoot.

I don't know why this weird statue thing is at a farm but it made for my best shot of the night.

This pathway always seems to make for a good shot.

Melissa suggested this shot. She thought the winding fence was neat.

New Years Resolution

Hey everyone,
It has been awhile and I've gotten a little bit busy during the holiday (and finals) but I am back and would like to share one of my new years resolutions to you. The resolution is to blog once a week or more importantly to get out and use my camera at least once a week so I have something to blog about. Yes despite all the work and things to get in order in all my other resolutions this year I need to make time for myself to pursue and become better at my hobby. I need the time to unwind so that I can accomplish more during the other times. I think it is important for all of us to make sure we take a bit of time out to enjoy something we love.

I thought I would share a couple of pictures I took on New Years Eve while we we out doing some fireworks. Nothing fancy just me playing around with some extended shutter speeds while hand holding my camera. I thought that turned out kind of cool though. Happy New Year everyone and remember to set aside some time for yourself to pursue a hobby or learn something new this year.
